Work-zone crashes deserve specific mention because liability in them is frequently broader than it appears. Beyond the driver, responsibility may extend to a contractor whose traffic control did not conform to the approved plan, a subcontractor, or the entity that designed the configuration. Those are separate defendants with separate coverage, and they are missed when a work-zone crash is treated as a simple two-car case.
Sarpy County’s growth also means a lot of construction employment.
