A Bellevue woman died and two other drivers were injured in a three-vehicle crash at the intersection of Cornhusker Road and 48th Street in Sarpy County Friday night. According to WOWT, first responders were called to the scene shortly after 7 p.m. Friday. A Chrysler Town and Country was traveling southbound on 48th Street when, according to witnesses, it entered the intersection against a steady red light and struck a westbound Volkswagen Jetta that had a green light. The Chrysler was then struck by a westbound Ford F-250, also traveling with the green light. The driver of the Chrysler, identified as Julia Carroll, 68, of Bellevue, was taken to the hospital, where she was pronounced dead. The drivers of the Volkswagen and the Ford were both treated for injuries at the scene. The Sarpy County Sheriff's Office, Papillion Police Department, and Papillion and Bellevue fire departments all responded. The Sheriff's Office said in a statement that its Crash Response Unit was "appreciative of the citizens who rendered aid at the scene and remained on location to provide statements." (WOWT)
