Two people were hospitalized after a head-on crash on Highway 30 near County Road 36th in Merrick County, Nebraska. According to WOWT, a 2016 Dodge Caravan traveling eastbound and a 2021 GMC pickup truck traveling westbound collided head-on. The Caravan's driver was flown by Air Care Medical Services helicopter to a hospital with serious injuries; a passenger in the Caravan was taken by ambulance with non-life-threatening injuries. The GMC pickup's driver was not injured and was not transported, but was issued a citation. Investigators say alcohol and drugs are not suspected to be a contributing factor, and seatbelts were in use in both vehicles.
